Tale of the Mothman's Return PREVIEW!

If you've been following me on Facebook or Twitter, then you know I've been making steady progress on Tale of the Mothman's Return.

And man, does it feel good. I'm within spitting distance of being ready to share this book with the world. I just have a few chapters left to revise, then all that remains is post-production—preparing the print and ebook layouts, setting it up for sale, etc.

It's long overdue, and for those of you eager to get your hands on it, I have a little treat...

Preview the Prologue & First 2 Chapters of Mothman's Return!

Wait no longer—you can check out the beginning of Mothman's Return right now!

These three chapters (well okay—two chapters and a prologue) do a great job of setting the stage for the rest of the book. They'll introduce you to the characters and the things that kick this story into gear. I think you're going to enjoy them, and they'll get you even more pumped for the rest of the book.

Alright, enough talking—let's get to it!

Read it below, or click here to open it on a separate page (recommended for mobile reading.)

10 Reasons Why A Hat In Time Is Better Than Mario Odyssey

Don't get me wrong—I love Super Mario Odyssey. There's no denying the level of polish and care put into that game, and it truly is the best Mario game in years. It's just that there's this little indie game that's better.

High-Intensity Interval Writing; How to Write More in Less Time

Image by Caleb Roenigk. I check the clock to see it's a little past 4 in the afternoon. For the most part, it's been a lazy day; woke up with some coffee, played with my kids, had a leisurely lunch break. My goal for the day was to crank out some writing on my new book, but I only spent about three and a half hour actually writing. How much progress did I make? over 4,600 words. Nearly three times the daily number people shoot for during National Novel Writing Month , or what will someday be about 18 pages in the novel. It was a record-breaking number, yet it felt like I hardly worked at all. I threw all those words on paper without stressing, or pressure, or working long grueling hours. What I did that day was sustainable  and repeatable , not a one-time fluke success. What did I do that worked so well? I used the same principle I do with exercise.

8BitDo SN30 Pro Controller Review: Retro Style Meets Modern Features

My poor wife. She humors my gaming hobby so well, despite not being a gamer herself. She has also inadvertently helped me realize how crazy us gamers sound sometimes, when explaining why we need  something that we clearly don't. Case in point is this retro-style Switch controller by 8BitDo. I kept eyeing this thing up. The Super Nintendo aesthetic really did it for me, and despite having all the gaming accessories I needed , I found myself wanting this for no good reason. She didn't complain when I grabbed the overpriced Switch Pro Controller, because I had a valid need—trying to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with a pair of joy cons was far from ideal. But as I explained how I had no practical need for this new controller, but wanted it anyway, she gave me some very confused looks. Thankfully my wife is amazing, and ended up buying me the controller as a surprise birthday present. And I'm glad she did, because I really like this thing! I've clocked in some
